Samantha Turnquist and Breanna Schooley participated in the 2nd Annual Pro-Life Speech Contest hosted by McKenzie County Right to Life at Johnson Corners Christian Academy outside of Watford City on Saturday, May 1. This competition is recognized this year as the state competition. Twenty participants from 7-12 grade attended, some coming from as far as Fargo and Strasberg to give speeches. The girls amazingly represented Alexander School. Breanna Schooley did final and took 6th place overall!

AHS has three seniors with legislation that passed the Youth Leadership Initiative's E-Congress. The YLI creates a mock national House of Representatives, where students research and write their own legislation. They then act as congressional committees and review and vote on bills from schools around the nation. The bills that pass the committee phase are sent to the House floor where all students nationwide vote to pass or fail each bill. This is a huge accomplishment! Congrats Ladies! Congratulations to Ethan Mitchell! He is a member of the Williston High School track team. He is now member of the state qualifying 4x400 relay team! Way to go!

Alexander FFA Chapter tree sale will start tonight, April 29th, at the Spring concert.

The annual spring concert will be held tomorrow, April 29th at 6:30 in the new gym. All students in grades PK-8 and the high school choir will be performing. Students are asked to be in their classrooms by 6:15 and dressed nicely. We hope to see all families attend.

AHS Student Council was finally able to attend the NDASC Convention after a year of COVID-19 restrictions. While the conference was a bit short this year, students discussed issues like mental heath and bringing our schools and communities back together after the pandemic. Brieanna, Breanna, Alex, and Tayla did a great job representing the Alexander Comets at State Speech on Saturday, April 23. Brieanna and Tayla's humorous duo placed 2nd in state overall!

The McKenzie County Dollars for Scholars is at it again! We are raising money to give SCHOLARSHIPS to graduating seniors. **$20/ticket** This years prizes: 1. The will be 3 elementary basketball games tonight. The girls will play tonight at 5:00 pm. The boys 5/6 game will be at 6:00 pm and the 4th graders will play at 6:45 pm. Hope to see everyone in the Alexander gym

We invite families and our community to graduation at Alexander School on May 23rd at 2:00 p.m. We currently do not have restrictions on seating.

Williston Trinity Christian School Elementary Basketball Jamboree on Saturday, April 24th. Admissions: Adult $5, Ages 5-18 $3, Under 5: Free Concessions will be served. Pizza, Taco in a Bag, Baked Mac n Cheese, snacks, soda, water, etc. Concessions will open at 10am. WTCS Covid Policy- Masks are at the discretion of each individual; however, we do request to social distance as best as possible, and pleas do no t send any students who may have had a fever or other illness within 24 Hours off play.
