“Even if you’re on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.” –Will Rogers
Welcome to April, Comets! We’ve got an exciting month ahead with a packed schedule of fun events, school spirit, and opportunities to make lasting memories. Let’s dive into what’s coming up, starting with the event on everyone’s mind—Prom 2025!
On April 12th, get ready for an unforgettable night at Prom 2025. This year’s theme promises to be filled with magic, masquerades, and a twist of friendly competition, including a bowling event to add a bit of fun to the evening. After the main event, we’ll head over to the Williston Strikezone for the After-Prom Party, where you can relax and unwind after a night of dancing. There will be prizes for competition winners, so bring your best game! Please remember that you must attend Prom in order to go to the After-Prom Party, so grab your tickets now before they sell out! Ticket prices range from $20 a single to $30 a pair, and they’re available for purchase at the office.
If you’re planning on bringing a date from another school, make sure you stop by Mrs. Faller’s office to pick up a guest form. After submitting it, check the office to see if your guest has been approved. We want to make sure everyone has a smooth and magical experience, so get your tickets and forms early!
Seniors, it’s that time of year when we get to look back at how much you’ve grown! The Alexander “Guess Who: Senior Baby Edition” competition is back, and we need your cutest (or funniest, we won’t complain) baby photo along with your senior picture to participate. These photos will be featured in the Senior Edition of the Comet Newsletter, so get them in soon to Mrs. Gowing. It’s always fun to see how much our seniors have changed and grown over the years. Be sure to bring those photos as soon as possible!
The High School Student Council has a busy couple of months ahead, with two major events that you won’t want to miss:
· Golf Tournament Fundraiser (May 17th): Originally planned for October 5th but postponed to May, this tournament is a fantastic way to support the student council’s efforts while having a great time on the course. If you have any questions about the event, please reach out to Mrs. Severson, who can provide you with all the details.
· Blood Drive (April 23rd): The annual blood drive is one of our most important events of the year, and it’s a great way to give back to the community. Donating blood is a simple yet powerful way to help save lives, and the process is quick and relatively painless. You can sign up today to help those in need.
Speaking of golf... Boys’ Golf is starting up next week, and we can’t wait to see you out on the green. Signups are available in the office for both Junior High and High School boys interested in participating. Whether you’re a seasoned golfer or new to the sport, this is your chance to get involved and have some fun while developing your skills. We look forward to watching your game grow over the season!
The Middle School Student Council is keeping the sweet spirit alive by selling lollipops for just $1 in the commons after school. It’s a perfect little treat to satisfy your sweet tooth while supporting our middle schoolers in their fundraising efforts. Be sure to grab a lollipop next time you’re passing through the commons!
That’s all for now, Comets! We’re looking forward to seeing you all at these exciting events this month. Remember, there’s a lot to look forward to, so make the most of every moment. Stay connected, and let’s make April one to remember!
