Good afternoon, Comets, and congratulations on another busy week!
First up, get ready to put on your dancing shoes because there’s a middle school dance tonight at 6:30 PM for all 6th-8th grade students! The cost is $5 for a single and $7 for a pair, and you can purchase your tickets at the door. Be sure to check that you're eligible to attend, and we can’t wait to see you there!
If you’ve got a sweet tooth, the Middle School Student Council has got you covered! They’ll be selling delicious lollipops in the commons area after school for just $1 each. These tasty treats will be available for the rest of the school year, so grab one before they’re all gone!
In sports news, we want to give a big shoutout to the High School Wrestling Team who competed at State, and Corey Gettzlaff brought home an impressive 5th place finish! A huge congratulations to him and the entire team for their hard work and determination. We are incredibly proud of you!
As the Boys’ Basketball season comes to a close, the District Tournament is starting tomorrow, and they’ll be playing at 4:30 PM on Friday at the Well. This is the perfect opportunity to show your support and cheer on our boys as they work to cap off an incredible season. Let’s pack the stands and help them finish strong!
In case you missed it, for the 100th day of school, our friendly construction crew working on the expansion gave an amazing demonstration to the elementary students. They showed the kids how the addition is being built and answered lots of questions, giving everyone a sneak peek into their future school. It was a fun and educational experience for all involved!
We also want to congratulate the Speech Team for their impressive performance at Nedrose last Saturday! The team earned five awards, with notable placements in several categories. In EPR, Vivian Lundeen took 7th place, and Eleanna Hokenson came in 3rd. In the Humorous category, Teija Hokenson secured 2nd place, and Tylan Womelsdorf placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking. Lastly, Brooke Ryhkus earned 8th in Dramatic. Well done to all the participants, and congratulations on your accomplishments!
Looking ahead, we’re gearing up to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday next week with a week full of fun and dress-up days! From Pajama Day to Bowling Day, there’s a costume theme for each day, so be sure to participate and show your creative side. It’s going to be a fantastic week full of school spirit!
Lastly, we want to wish everyone a great weekend ahead! Enjoy your time off, and remember to stay safe and have fun.
Go Comets!
