“Sometimes, the best Christmas present is remembering what you’ve already got.” -Cathy Guiswite
Attention Comets, Christmas is just two weeks away, and it’s starting to look a lot like the season! The snow is falling, and the ground is covered in a beautiful blanket of white, providing the perfect opportunity for our students to get outdoors and enjoy some winter fun. Snowmen are being built, and snow angels are being made—it's that time of year when the magic of the season really starts to show.
A quick reminder for parents and students: Please remember that children will not be allowed on the bus without the proper winter gear. Jackets, boots, gloves, and hats are essential to keep everyone safe and warm as they travel to and from school in this chilly weather. Let's make sure all our students are bundled up and ready to go!
This week marks the final week of our canned food drive! It’s been amazing to see so many of our students and families coming together to help those in need. If you haven’t already, please bring in non-expired, canned goods to support local families this holiday season. Every donation counts, and together we can make a big difference for those who are struggling.
Another way to spread some holiday cheer is by participating in our Giving Tree. The Giving Tree is set up in the school lobby, and each tag on the tree represents a gift needed by a local family. Take a tag, bring back an unwrapped gift, and help brighten the holidays for a family in need. Your generosity makes the season special for so many, and we truly appreciate every donation.
Construction on the new wing of the building is moving along smoothly! We’re excited to announce that the new entryway is officially finished. Starting this week, all students will be expected to use the main office doors to enter and exit the building. The new space is looking great, and we can’t wait to see the finished project as it continues to take shape. Thanks for your patience and cooperation during the construction process!
On the athletic front, basketball season is in full swing. Our girls' team has already played two games, with a third scheduled for Friday. We’re proud of their hard work and determination on the court. As for the boys’ team, their first game of the season will be this Friday as well. Let’s show them all our support as they start their season. Good luck to all of our athletes—let’s bring home some wins, Comets!
For students in grades 7 through 12, Speech sign-ups are now available in the office. Participating in speech events is a fantastic way to build confidence, improve public speaking skills, and have fun while expressing yourself. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or trying it out for the first time, we encourage all interested students to sign up and give it a go.
Finals are just around the corner, happening next week! Now is the time to buckle down, review your notes, and get ready for the big week ahead. Study hard, stay organized, and take breaks to stay refreshed. Finals can be stressful, but with the right preparation and mindset, we know you can all do your best. Good luck to everyone—let’s finish the semester strong, Comets!
And finally, stay warm and take care of yourselves. It’s easy to get caught up in the holiday hustle and bustle, but make sure you’re getting enough rest and taking care of your health. The winter months can be tough, so dress warmly, wash your hands, and enjoy the winter wonderland around us!
Wishing everyone a wonderful week ahead—let’s make it count, Comets!
